Figma is being acquired by Adobe

Why it matters

Adobe is the market leader for design software, and we believe that the acquisition of Figma, one of its largest competitors and fastest growing competitors, will lessen competition and will likely result in higher prices for designers and companies.

Adobe has a history of acquiring competitors with adverse impact on the design community.

Walmart would be stopped from buying Target. American Airlines would be stopped from buying Delta Airlines. As, such…

ADOBE SHOULD BE STOPPED FROM BUYING FIGMA.

Let’s take action

1: Voice your concerns to the DOJ

If you believe that Adobe’s acquisition of Figma will lead to less competition and higher costs for customers, then file a compliant with the Department of Justice. The Clayton Act is a civil statute that prohibits mergers or acquisitions that are likely to lessen competition and increase prices for consumers.

We’ve created a letter template that you can view here to speed up the process.

We encourage you to contact the DOJ via all possible methods (email, snail mail, and phone) to make sure that your voice is heard.

2: Spread the word in your network

The entire team at Figma has built an incredible application that is a core tool for design professional and collaborators alike. They are not the focus of our angst or anger.

Adobe — and their acquisitions of design software companies in the past which have limited competition and increased prices — is the focus of our calls to actions.

Spread the word #StopAdobe and #SaveFigma on social media.
